Elders-to-show-Gratitude-to-the-Spirit-of-Mother-Earth
We invite people throughout the world to join us on January 26, 2013 by making an offering to Mother Earth or showing gratitude in however way you choose, following your own unique ways and traditions, with thoughts of love and thankfulness.
We invite you to initiate the Feast wherever you are, through your own efforts, in the cities, the territories, and in the communities.
This sacred act will invoke the Spirit to guide us to a good life, and will let Mother Earth know we stand together in alliance with her.

Water, the Rain and the Oceans of Time - Louie Gonnie
Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst, help us to find
the way to refresh your lands.
We pray for your power to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and
pollution, help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.
We pray for your knowledge to find the way to
cleanse the waters.
Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with
misuse, help us to find the way to restore beauty
to your handiwork.
We pray for your strength to restore the beauty
of your handiwork.
Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed,
help us to find a way to replenish them.
We pray for your power to replenish the earth.
Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in
selfishness and corruption, help us to find the way
to restore our humanity.
We pray for your wisdom to find the way to
restore our humanity.

Happy Earth Day!
And now will we count to twelve
and we will all keep still...
For once on the face of the earth
let's not speak in any language;
let's stop for one second,
and not move our arms so much.
It would be an exotic moment
without rush, without engines,
we would all be together
in a sudden strangeness.
Fishermen in the cold sea
would not harm whales
and the man gathering salt
would look at his hurt hands.
Those who prepare green wars,
wars with gas, wars with fire,
victory with no survivors,
would put on clean clothes
and walk about with their brothers
in the shade doing nothing.
What I want should not be confused
with total inactivity.
(Life is what it is about;
I want no truck with death.)
If we were not so singleminded
about keeping our lives moving,
and for once could do nothing,
perhaps a huge silence
might interrupt this sadness
of never understanding ourselves
and of threatening ourselves with death.
Perhaps the earth can teach us
as when everything seems dead
and later proves to be alive.
Now I'll count up to twelve,
and you keep quiet and I will go.
~Pablo Neruda~
Earth Mother, Our Mother...
I thank you deeply for Your
sustenance each day so that
I might live.
Remind me daily of the beauty
I see in You, through wondrous
cloud, the ant busily working,
the dandelion blooming, the
bee busy gathering nectar,
the birds of the air soaring on
the thermals.
Remind of your waters that
are home to the creatures that
share the planet with me.
Remind me to stand in amazement
for all good things which come
from You, Blessed Mother.
As I am reminded then Mother Earth,
let me say a silent prayer, one
which sprouts from a glad heart,
one which feels your Love as You
continually support me, so that I
may feel Your grace within, so that I
may always stand in amazement.
Bless You Earth Mother...
A'HO!

I'm just sayin'....
I've tried posting several new videos
this morning but it was a no go, so rather
than fight technology I'll just post some
links and you can go and check them out
at your leisure? The first one being the
Alaskan Natives speaking out about the
Gulf Oil Rape...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkcO5kLt5Mg
and then one which really spoke to me is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lntLbNOPZE4
and last for today is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLdgj5XtZPE
I know some of you may be growing weary of
me posting about The Oil Rape of Mother Earth
but I have found a purpose and passion through
this happening. I have been called to be a
Water Keeper. The ways in which I can do that
is to post these videos and links to help inform,
to ask you to continue to pray and hold intention
for the Water...Water is Life! In those moments
when you get a glass of water for yourself, stop
and say the prayer of Dr. Emoto...which is
I am sorry!
Please forgive me!
Thank You!
I love you!
I have taken to talking to the Water moment by
moment as I go through my day...when I am
doing my dishes, showering, doing laundry,
watering my plants, drinking, I am reminded
that life is a Circle and my prayers that are
being said in those moments of my using this
Life Force, are being heard by Mother Earth and
Father Sky. I will not give up until Her Body is
Restored to Perfect Health. I truly believe that
when I say prayers for Herself I am as well
bringing Healing to Me. To You! I am doing as
the Grandmothers have asked, and that is to
continue to hold The Net Of Light for The Gulf
and all Living Bodies of Water in prayer three
times a day.
Living Water International says this about
Water...WE are living with Water Crisis!
It is at the heart of a daily crisis faced by a
billion of the world’s most vulnerable people—
a crisis that threatens life and destroys
livelihoods on a devastating scale.
Unlike war and terrorism, the global water crisis
does not make media headlines, despite the fact
that it claims more lives through disease than
any war claims through guns. Unlike natural
disasters, it does not rally concerted international
action, despite the fact that more people die each
year from drinking dirty water than from the world’s
hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, and earthquakes
combined.
This is a silent crisis experienced by the poor,
and tolerated by those with the resources,
technology, and the political power to end it.
Yet this is a crisis that is holding back human
progress, consigning large segments of humanity
to lives of poverty, vulnerability, and insecurity.
At Living Water International, we are addressing
this most basic of needs by helping deprived
communities acquire safe, clean water. Our goal is
to substantially ease the global water crisis while
addressing root causes such as injustice, oppression,
and abject poverty. As this happens, communities
and worldviews are transformed—both among those
in desperate physical need, and among those who
have been blessed with much.

helping to turn this around....

These are just a few...I will be putting up more
links as time goes by.
I have also made a commitment to myself to
go to our beautiful Rock River right here where
I live, to do a personal ritual/ceremony to bless
The Water...all life flows to the sea!
Here is a view of The Mighty Rock as viewed
from Big Hills Park which has been a part of
many a family picnic in my family.
You too can do the same where you live?
Something that has been in my awareness
for a long time now is how women love to
dye their hair to get rid of the grey that is
coming in or to change it up to give life to
a new look. I am asking you to reconsider.
There are alternatives...
I had bought a box of Nice and Easy months
ago and it sat on my counter for a long while.
This was long before the Oil Rape...at any
rate the morning I was going to put the
color in my hair to cover up my grey I heard
in my spirit...'are you going to put more
chemicals into my earth?' I immediately
stopped what I was doing and decided at
that point that I was going to make a huge
shift in my endeavors as to what was going
down the drains at my home. I will not be
a part of poisoning the waters of Mother
Earth if I can help it. I have slowly been
switching over to using Earth Friendly soaps.
Yes, they are a bit more expensive but my
heart doesn't lurch each time I reach for
something either. So all of you Lovelies out
there who read my words I hope you will
reconsider what you are putting into the
waters where you live. It takes many steps
to get where we are going but I believe
together WE CAN DO IT!
With that, I leave you to enjoy your lovely
day and pray that each of you are spending
it the best way FOR YOU! :)

Good Morning!
As we move into our celebrations of
Freedom this weekend I hope we can
all remember that word specifically.
Freedom...within and without. Not
giving a voice to being safe, which I
had been saying until I listened to a
meditation earlier which reminded me
that our focus should be instead on
Freedom...that we need to connect
that with our core essence instead of
living in that 'safe' mode. It is when
we step outside of our comfort zones
and live in our Freedom that we truly
find out who we are and the courage
that we find when we do so. That is
truly Independence.
I am off and running today as I've a
million things to accomplish before
the heat returns to my neck of the
woods this weekend. I've been
spending lots of time outdoors
with my Daughter and Grandaughter,
getting the weeding and trimming
done for another period of time, watering
from the rain water I've been collecting,
and watching all of the things I have
growing in my 'garden of sorts.' I put
everything in big pots this year to make
it easier for me to garden as I am not
ready to give that up just yet, lol.
Everything seems to be doing exceedingly
well and I am so happy about that! :)
So let's see...I should be picking my first
crop of Cherokee Wax Beans this weekend.
The Swiss Chard is about 3 inches tall...I
got that planted later this year but it is
coming right along. The cucumbers are
flowering so I should be seeing those
little babies coming in soon. I have lots
of tomato blossoms as well as tomatoes
that are getting quite big and I cannot
wait to pick the first one and sit there
with a salt shaker and take my first,
big juicy bite! I put in more beans last
week and they are already up. With all
the rain and heat we've been having this
summer everything is doing very well.
I usually have everything in by Mother's
Day each year but this year it was
several weeks past that before we could
plant as we were still having killing frosts
at night.
I have many different colors of Daylilly and
I have been taking pictures of them in the
early mornings and after the rains...they
smell so sweet and fresh and bring me
much pleasure. I have a new geranium I
bought from a woman last year at her
rummage sale that is a purplish blue and
has the most delicate little flowers on it.
It spreads, so it is creeping through the
flower bed this year and looks so pretty.
I divided up my Bleeding Hearts this year
so now I've two very big bushes of that
and I see they have now seeded under
my deck so in the fall I will transplant
those and put them somewhere too.
The picture below is the first year I had
lived here and doesn't even look like it
does now...we are minus the broken
windmill out in the middle of the yard
and everything is much more defined
and culled out with more new plantings,
but you can get the general idea.
Along the fencelines out back I've
culled out lots too and have begun
planting ferns and some different types
of grasses. It had been neglected quite
badly back there and will take me a few
more years of planting new things and
making it more pleasing to the eye and
spirit.
Firekeeper gave me a raspberry bush he
planted at school last year and it is really
doing well. The cane is nice and strong
and shooting right up there. In a few
more years I will have nice raspberries
to make jam with, and I love them in
a bowl of cream with a little sugar
sprinkled on them. My Grandmother
used to serve berries that way to us
when we were young and it was the
best treat ever after being out picking
in the hot sun all day. Even after we'd
eaten just as much as we picked?
So...I am off and running to get my day
started...I do hope you all have a great
weekend celebrating Independence Day
with your loved ones or however you
choose to celebrate the many wonderful
Freedoms we have in our country. We
truly are a blessed people living here.
We enjoy so much more than other
people in other countries and I never
lose sight of that.
Don't forget to keep sending up your
prayers for the waters, all the creatures,
each other and a getting a fix to the
bleeding gash of our Beloved Mother
Earth. WE All have to do Our Part.
There is a beautiful prayer over at
Spirituality and Practice by Medica

a peek and pray it...here is the link,

Happy Summer Solstice!!!
On June 19th I was honored to participate
in a Virtual Teleconference Call with the
13 Indigenous Grandmothers. It was very
powerful and profound. Over 17,000
people from 86 different countries participated.
Two of The Grandmothers were able to be
with us during the call, but many were called
into ceremony in different parts of the world,
as well as to Sundance, or support those in
Sundance, as it is the time of The Solstice
and the energies are currently very strong,
and they are doing Ceremony and Ritual now.
Grandmother Rita and Grandmother Flordemayo,
shared from their heartsongs what we all
should be giving our attention to right now as
we face what is happening in our world, mostly
with the Gulf Oil Spill (which I contend is a
rape of 'Men' against Mother Earth).
The Grandmothers shared that the Wise Elder
Feminine is now in Power and is taking back
Her rightful place.
I will just share the notes I took during the call
with you...
We are all to Be Guardians of The Land now.
No one is excluded from this. We must help
all living things and hold them all in our hearts
and in our prayers. We are to pray for everyone
on Earth, and pray that all things will turn out
better than what it is right now. We are now
to come together at a community level to
reduce our usage of water, to begin using rain
barrels to collect the rain water and use it for
watering our gardens, etc., and I take that to
mean flushing our toilets and many other ways
in which we can conserve. (I remember the
use of rain barrels, our Grandparents always
used them.)
We are to involve ourselves in Water Projects
which clean up our rivers, lakes, streams, etc..
Whatever it takes to clean up our Mother Earth
we are to involve ourselves in, in a big way!
Each person must take part! That includes
teaching our children about the effects of
Man-made pollution and how it will affect the
coming generations if we don't do something
now as we are living in the Eleventh Hour.
About Children: Grandmother Rita shared
that children are out of control...we are to
start now by really 'listening' to them, their
concerns, their needs. We are to speak to
them gently and easily and to teach them
that each new day is a beginning and to
forget yesterday. Grandmothers all over the
world are to begin actively taking part in
teaching their Grandchildren, and supporting
them in their endeavors to help Mother Earth.
Grandmother Flordemayo shared that Today
is being represented by the Jungle Tiger and
her spots are the Universe...Today is Feminine!
She shared also that we are to work in tandem
with the Star Nations as They are working with
Us.
We are to recognize that capping the oil spill
is the test that shows us we are not to mess
with what we don't know about!!!! In other
words, leave Mother Earth alone! She has
suffered enough at the hands of 'men.')
I say to you, that Women did not take part in
this rape of Mother Earth...We have the internal
knowing as We too are The Womb, and that
now is the time to step forward and let your
voices be heard and your actions be shown in
whatever ways are available to you, as We must
all do our part to establish The Rise of The
Feminine. I say this as A Grandmother.
The Grandmothers also shared that we are now
to be praying three times daily...In the morning
before the Sun comes up...at Mid-Day...and
before we go into the Dreamlodge each night.
We are to keep the Fires lit through the use of
candles, or whatever means available to you,
as it will be through Fire that We will connect,
and to Pray! Pray! Pray!
We are to have no Expectations or Outcomes!
We are to Allow Creations Seed to show us the
way we are to go and trust the way will be shown
to us.
We joined in Prayer with Grandmother Rita and
Grandmother Flordemayo and I wept...it was so
utterly beautiful and poignant. Grandmother
Rita prayed in her Mother Tongue and I wept
through the whole prayer and then I wept when
Grandmother Flordemayo prayed as she touched
me with her words.
They then asked if their were other Grandmothers
on the call if they would like to say prayers and
blessings and many participated. All were so
heartfelt and powerful...when it was finished
Grandmother Flordemayo shared that she saw
an Emerald Green Light covering us all and as
she was uttering her words I saw a huge
umbrella over all of us in all the colors of the
Rainbow and then others began to share what
they saw too. It was moving beyond words.
I did much weeping in Joy!
We were then told it was the end of the call but
were given the chance to break off into pods of
eight...my pod had three and both women were
very loving, compassionate and kind. We did
exchange email addresses and will now keep in
contact with each other.
After I hung up the phone, my body was
vibrating at a very high level and I could not
even begin to think about going to sleep so I
just began to Pray and soon I drifted off into
Dreamtime.
I hope you take these words I have shared
this morning into your heart...I know I have.
It was the best two hours I have spent in a
long, long time and I am so happy I decided
to take part, as a Woman, and a Grandmother!
If you feel so led, you may also support The
Grandmothers financially as they travel all
over the world to share their message.
Their Mission Statement is:
WE, THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF THIRTEEN INDIGENOUS GRANDMOTHERS, represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth, all Her inhabitants, all the children, and for the next seven generations to come. We are deeply concerned with the unprecedented destruction of our Mother Earth and the destruction of indigenous ways of life. We believe the teachings of our ancestors will light our way through an uncertain future. We look to further our vision through the realization of projects that protect our diverse cultures: lands, medicines, language and ceremonial ways of prayer and through projects that educate and nurture our children.
Their website is here: Just click on the link...as well they will be sharing the call in the very near future for those who were not able to take part.

I pray you all a Most Beautiful and Meaningful Summer Solstice!

A Call To Urgent Action
Foundation: Urgent Call To Action!
YOUR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE IS REQUESTED
The recent oil spill in the Gulf is escalating with catastrophic vulnerability concerning the wellhead. Experts say a huge and very toxic gas bubble has formed and extreme pressure is building - fissures have already developed. They are predicting real possibility of volcanic like explosion producing tsunami and other major events.
Please listen to these videos to assist your understanding of this most serious rising potential of cataclysmic proportion.
Volcanic Tsunami and Poison Gas Alert:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZCvMQhbH-8
In these next few weeks, we will experience extremely powerful energy especially with the astro alignments, solstice and eclipses. Now more than ever, your assistance is needed with focused prayers, invocation to the realms of light, assisting star nations and sending light and sound transmission to the Gulf of Mexico. Connecting to the Crystalline Grid is one of the fastest and surest way to transmit the purity of your energy to and through the Earth and out to the galactic. Envelop this entire region and all unwanted rising potential in violet flames and pure white light.
Please ask everyone around you and network groups to assist in combining this focus starting NOW and especially with the incoming Solstice energies.
Our focus is qualified with alignment to Divine Will and the highest good of all concerned.
THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS MESSAGE TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE
Invocation courtesy of: Pleiadian Light Network
Link to Mother Earth Oil Spill Invocation
"You Are Desperately Needed"
"We ask you to cast, anchor, and hold the Net of Light (Crystalline Grid) steady for the Gulf of Mexico," the Grandmothers said. "This crisis is affecting the entire world, and humanity is asleep. Wake up!" they cried. "Animals are dying, plants are dying, and your Mother is writhing in agony. If you hold the Net of Light steady at this time you will help stave off further catastrophe.
"You have been lulled into a false sleep," they said, "told that others (B.P.) will take care of this problem. This is not so," they said. "And this is not the time for you to fall into oblivion. Determine now to stay awake, and once you have made that commitment, think of, cast, and hold the Net of Light. Hold it deep and hold it wide. Amplify its reach to penetrate the waters of the Gulf and dive deep beneath the crust of Mother Earth. Anchor it at the earth's core and as you hold it there, ask it to unify with the mineral kingdom of this planet. It will do this and will harmonize with all the solid and liquid mineral states on earth-including oil and gas. The Net of Light will call these minerals back into harmony.
"Whatever human beings have damaged, human beings must correct," the Grandmothers said. "This is the law. We repeat: This is the law. You cannot sit back and ask God to fix the mess humanity has created. Each of you must throw your shoulders to the wheel and work. We are asking for your help. Several years ago we gave you the Net of Light so you would be able to help the earth at times like this. Step forward now. This is the Net of Light that will hold the earth during the times of change that are upon you," they said.
"First move into your heart and call on us. We will meet you there. The Net of Light is lit by the jewel of your heart," they said, "so move into this lighted place within you and open to the Net of which you are a part. Bask in its calming presence. It holds you at the same time that you hold it.
"Now think of magnifying your union with us. We, the Great Council of the Grandmothers, are with you now, and all those who work with the Net of Light are also with you. There are thousands, even millions now connected in light," they said. "Along with this union, call forth the power of the sacred places on earth. These will amplify the potency of our joint effort. Then call on the sacred beings that have come to prevent the catastrophe that threatens to overwhelm your planet. We will work together," they said, nodding slowly.
"Think of, cast and magnify the presence of the Net of Light in the Gulf of Mexico. See, imagine or think of it holding the waters, holding the land, the plants, the sea life, and the people. Holding them all!" they said. "The Net of Light is holding them steady; it is returning them to balance. Let the love within your lighted heart keep pouring into the Net of Light and hold, hold, hold. Calmly and reverently watch as the light from your heart flows along the strands of the Net. It will follow your command and continuously move forth. As soon as you think of it, it will happen. We ask you to practice this for only a few minutes at a time, but to repeat it throughout the day and night.
"We promise that this work with the Net of Light will do untold good," the Grandmothers said. "We are calling you to service now. You are needed. Do not miss this opportunity. We thank you and bless you."

Wade In The Water....
The song Wade In The Water is an
old Negro Spiritual which I feel holds
much energy for these times....
When I began to listen to it I was
inexplicably drawn in, and as I began
to listen to the words I could feel
the injustices and suffering of this
world from long, long ago and the
Waters and Earth that bore them.
Water...Divine Element that makes up
my body, the Earth's body, who also
inhabits the Heavenly Body...I send my
Healing and Love to you now...let all
ties from the past, present and future
that may have kept you in bondage be
broken, unfettered, and free, and may
you once again flow as Creator meant
you to be. May we now nourish and
replenish you with our outpouring of
Love....Pure, Cryastalline Love.
Amen.

Sitting On The Porch A Bit....
Ever feel like hitting the trail?
Destination Pow Wow Trail?
Well, that is what this old girl feels
like doing right now...hitting the trail.
Going to listen to those Drums beat
out the Heartbeat of Mother Earth.
It has been too long for me and my
heart yearns for it. The pic of me
above was taken three summers ago
at a PowWow just over the border in
Rockton, Illinois. Man it was a cooker
that day...I had stood in line for almost
an hour to get a piece of fry bread and
that was after I visited all the vendors
that piqued my interest. So by the
time I got back to my chair I was sun-
burned and a little woozy. That is what
happens when you don't remember the
sunblock! So here I am in all my sweaty
glory, with hair stuck up in back by a
hair clip...you know one of those with
teeth, but my hair is so fine that it
inevitably falls out anywho? But I do
digress....
I am ready for a vacation. A vacation
from everything. I just want to go and
do and be. Whatever blows up my skirt.
My kids are off camping this weekend and
I think that is what precipitated my bad
case of wanderlust. When I was younger
it was nothing for me to throw all necessary
items in the trunk of my car and I'd be
down the road.
I'd really like to leave right now to go to
the Gulf Waters and sit with those animals
who are dying...it just about breaks my heart.
I'd like to sit and talk with Mother Osha..our
Water Mother and send healing into her. I
know that my prayers since all of this began
are being heard...my healing energies are
being received, but sometimes don't you
just want to be in the thick of things and
throw down the gauntlet, take up your
medicine bag, open it up and use your
arsenal to do whatever needs to be done?
Well, that is how I feel right now... and I
have to sigh.
It isn't in the cards for me to do that, so
I sit here and visualize me being there
doing my part, and each night when I go
into Dreamtime I set my intention to go
and do my part. I can tell you for me
that means astral travel, and as I fly over
the Waters wherever they are, I send the
healing down into the Deep. Heal Sweet
Earth Mother, Sweet Oshu, Heal....
For now I will take up my Drum and beat
out the Heartbeat that will transport me
in time to where I should be...would be
if I were physically able. I will join the
others on June 12th who are going to the
tributaries, the streams, the rivers, the
aquafiers, the ocean, and I will be praying
with my whole being that the Oil Spill will
be rectified immediately. I will pray for all
hands on deck, for ideas to sprout forth,
for listening by the powers that be who
regulate to open up and listen with their
hearts instead of their pocketbook. And
I will pray that all of you join me in this
movement of epic proportion. Hold it in
your being, your awareness, and feel it
deeply and with reverence...we are all in
this together. It is said and scientists
agree, that it only takes one percent of a
population to bring about a miracle when
all gather to bring about change. So let's
do it!
I found this song by Alison Kraus on You
Tube entitled Let's Go Down to the River
To Pray and while some of the wording may
not necessarily jive with your spirit, the
message is very clear and I am going to
sing it loudly and put my whole being into
it. You sing loudly too! I can hear you
way over here, lol! I give you Alison...
Wishing for you all, pure, crystalline water...
water that heals, water that refreshes,
water that nourishes and water that is
Holy......
I'm going to have my own PowWow and
listen to the Heartbeat of Earth Mother...
Ina Maka.

Gulf Coast Oil Spill - Sioux Prayer Request
A Letter from Chief Arvol Looking Horse
http://www.equiculture.org/arvols-message-to-the-world.aspx
I'm asking each of you to please go and
read Arvol's message...it is of utmost
importance in the days and weeks ahead.
I feel deeply in my bones the urgency of
this letter and have since the onset of
this oil spill...I say no more! No more
offshore drilling of any kind any longer!
We cannot fight big money and power
but we can pray...we should pray...for
life as we know it has been forever
changed by this one horrific happening.
We need to be responsible prayer
partners now...
In honor and respect,
A'Ho!

In Love and Light for the Gulf Oil Spill....
I've been in prayer and meditation
over the Gulf Oil Spill after finding
myself so angry and upset over it.
It was the only way I could diffuse
the ill-energy going on within me
as well as what is happening at the
site and those responsible
for this horrific happening.
This morning when I woke up it
was and is still in my energy field.
So much so that I am being impressed
to post about this so that more and
more of us can send healing blessings
to the waters, the lands, the wildlife,
the ocean creatures, the humans who
are being directly affected, the people
who are addressing this situation so that
right decisions are being put into play,
that discussions at a government level
as to who is to blame, cease and desist
for now, so that the energy being spent
on that will shift to that of confining the
oil and the damage caused thus far.
I feel if we all gather as a collective
consiousness, sending out wave after
wave of prayer, blessing and healing,
and spreading that word, then this can
be turned around energetically.
It is our responsibility as good stewards
of Mother Earth, as WayShowers, as
Lightworkers, to engage in this fully,
and with Divine Love and Compassion....
I pray you will join me and continue on
in that vein until is has been contained
and cleaned up...visualizing us all at the
site, standing around the spill hand in hand,
sending healing prayer and blessing, wave
after wave, after wave....
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Sweet Spirit of Sleep
Sweet Spirit of Sleep, who brings peace and rest
to weary bodies,
Empty us of aches and pains,
for we struggle as seeds through unyeilding earth.
Bring to us the timeless nature of your presence -
the endless void of our slumber.
Make us aware of the work we can do while in your time
Make us to know our dreaming,
where past and future are reconciled.
Come let us honor sleep, that knits up
the raveled sleeve of care, the death of each day's life,
sore labor's bath, balm of hurt minds,
great nature's second course,
chief nourisher in life's feast.

Welcoming The Day...
I arise, facing East,
I am asking toward the Light;
I am asking that my day,
Shall be beautiful with Light.
I am asking that the place
Where my feet are shall be light,
That as far as I can see
I shall follow it aright.
I am asking for the courage
To go forward through the shadow,
I am asking toward the light!

Tewa Pueblo Prayer
O our mother the earth, O our father the sky,
Your children are we, and with tired backs
We bring you gifts that you love.
Then weave for us a garment of brightness;
May the warp be the white light of morning,
May the weft be the red light of evening,
May the fringes be the falling rain,
May the border be the standing rainbow.
Thus weave for us a garment of brightness
That we may walk fittingly where grass is green,
O our mother the earth, O our father the sky!

Eskimo Song
Eskimo Song
I'm filled with joy
when the day dawns quietly
over the roof of the sky.
Life was wonderful
in winter.
But did winter make me happy?
No, I always worried
about hides for boot-soles
and for boots;
and if there'd be enough
for all of us.
Yes, I worried constantly.
Life was wonderful
in summer.
But did summer make me happy?
No, I always worried
about reindeer skins and rugs for the platform.
Yes, I worried constantly.
Life was wonderful
when you stood at your fishing-hole
on the ice.
But was I happy waiting at my fishing-hole?
No, I was always worried
for my little hook,
in case it never got a bite.
Yes, I worried constantly.
Life was wonderful
when you danced in the feasting-house.
But did this make me any happier?
No, I always worried
I'd forget my song.
Yes, I worried constantly.
Life was wonderful...
And still I feel joy
each time the day-break
whitens the dark sky
each time the sun
climbs over the roof of the sky.

Salutation to the Dawn
Sanskrit Salutation To The Dawn
Listen to the salutation to the dawn,
Look to this day for it is life,
the very life of life,
In its brief course lie all the verities
and realities of our existence.
The bliss of growth, the splendour
of beauty,
For yesterday is but a dream and
tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day.
Such is the salutation to the dawn.
***************************
I've been quiet of late...part of it
is because my new computer is
being worked on...and so I am
trying valiantly to post from my
Old Dragon...she is faithful to
be sure...
But the other part is...I have
awakened most every day this
week, to be greeted by Fog...
lots and lots of Fog in my neck
of the woods...it always puts a
different perspective on things,
eh? I actually have enjoyed it
and embraced it for what it is...
I love the muffled sounds it
brings...muted tones...a quieting
down of the busy-ness of life.
A trusting that behind that veil
of Fog, things are still there,
still functioning, still touching.
Then comes the cool part when
the fog begins to part, dissipate,
and what was once lost to the
eyes, is now seen. I once was
lost but now am found type of
thing. And then the total 'un-'
veiling and the knowing that all
things were there all along? It
is a magickal time, that unvieling.
Followed by a quiet joy that
bubbles up from within.
It was after the unveiling I saw
my first Robin of spring flying in
from the East towards me...Oh
the happiness that warmed my
insides! I wonder and delight at
their return each spring and have
to write it down on my calender.
Just something about their return
that moves me in my knowing that
Spring truly is here! So in between
the raindrops I went out to see if
anything is sprouting in the flower
beds...I see the Foxglove made it
through the winter...and today I
will truly go out for a good look
as the sun is shining this morning.
Therefore I will look to this day to
bring me the quiet joy I livingly
and lovingly seek, and knowing the
Fog always burns away, and I am
never truly lost or without my
senses.

Whisper
Whisper...
Teach me gracious Father and Mother
to whisper,
when the world rages all around me.
Teach me patience in my whisperings so
that they will be heard,
not as a breath of silent air,
But the still small voice, soft and golden
which lives inside us all.
Teach me that grace comes in quiet moments,
when inner peace is attained at the end
of a long day, or an even longer journey.
Always Father and Mother, as I whisper
your beloved names, may I feel
in that Holy and Golden moment,
the wondrous essence of Your presence,
pure, crystalline Love - the Holy Love
that whispers my name,
And I know that I am safely guided
home to You.
I shall always whisper Your Names.
Amen and Awoman

If we turn the spirit inward, we acquire
the power of discernment. Through
the power of discernment we find
our way to the Truth.
