Wade In The Water....

The song Wade In The Water is an
old Negro Spiritual which I feel holds
much energy for these times....

When I began to listen to it I was
inexplicably drawn in, and as I began
to listen to the words I could feel
the injustices and suffering of this
world from long, long ago and the
Waters and Earth that bore them.

Water...Divine Element that makes up
my body, the Earth's body, who also
inhabits the Heavenly Body...I send my
Healing and Love to you now...let all
ties from the past, present and future
that may have kept you in bondage be
broken, unfettered, and free, and may
you once again flow as Creator meant
you to be.  May we now nourish and
replenish you with our outpouring of
Love....Pure, Cryastalline Love.

Amen.

Wade In The Water
****************

Wade in the water

Wade in the water children

Wade in the water

God's gonna trouble the water

Who's that yonder dressed in red

Wade in the water

Must be the children that Moses led

God's gonna trouble the water

Oh wade in the water

Wade in the water children

Wade in the water

God's gonna trouble the water

Who's that yonder dressed in white

Wade in the water

Must be the children of the Israelite

Oh God's gonna trouble the water

Wade in the water

Wade in the water children

Wade in the water

God's gonna trouble the water

Who's that yonder dressed in blue

Wade in the water

Must be the children that's coming through

God's gonna trouble the water yeah

Wade in the water

Wade in the water children

Wade in the water

God's gonna trouble the water

If you don't believe I've been redeemed

Wade in the water

Just see the Holy Ghost looking for me

God's gonna trouble the water

Wade in the water

Wade in the water children

Wade in the water

God's gonna trouble the water

I hold these images in my consciousness and be present with them. In this way we allow life to speak to us in this ancient language, which has always been the language of life itself. This is the ancient wisdom of listening to life.

Traditional cultures knew this wisdom, just as they knew the wisdom of nature, plants and the seasons. They knew how to watch the weather and their sailors knew how to listen to the winds. They also knew how to read the book of life just as they knew how to listen to their dreams.

We as a people have lost this essential wisdom, and now life is screaming at us, crying to us, imploring us. Will we wait for the well to be capped and talk about financial recompense while the lawyers bring their lawsuits? Will we once again "have the experience but miss the meaning?" Or before the clocks strikes 12 can we regain the wisdom of our ancestors and hold the real meaning of this experience and finally listen to life itself?

The difficulty is that there will be no easy answer, no quick fix. The images that are speaking to us are too potent and too powerful. They are about the primal values of life itself. But if we dare to hold these images in our consciousness maybe we can make a step toward recognizing that life is a living being that can speak to us. Maybe we can return to a relationship to life that honors it as a sacred whole whose voice can be heard. Maybe we will not have to wait until the next disaster or the next before waking up to our real responsibility to life and the planet.
I love you Akasa and all that you are .

You have spoken eloquently and without reserve DancingFire. I hope to God we all "see" what meaning this holds for us a nation, as peoples, across all continents and times..in the reverence for life itself...not only our life but the life of the essence of Mother Earth in all of Her miraculous glory, lest it be too late.
I hold the vision with you My Sister of Long Ago...thank you for your Divine words and I say that with much honor and respect as I feel them emanating from your very core and that of Tunkashila...
I love you and all that you are!
Eternally...

Not having lived here all my life, I'm not familiar with that song, but it sure is beautiful...with very powerful words. I hope and pray there is hope for us!
