A Cold Water Prayer to Blessing Hands Rock

Blessing Hands Rock is just one of many sites that are
being threatened due to the possible raising of the Shasta
Dam...please watch and learn about this and please keep
the Winnemem Wintu peoples in your prayers?  And if you
so feel inclined, write to those in power over Shasta Dam,
and how it affects the life of this unrecognized tribe. 
Because it is an unrecognized tribe,their protests have
virtually gone unheard as they are treated like any other
interest group out there.  In my humble opinion this is
wrong on so many levels!!!

It is overseen by the Bureau of Reclamation.  I just did a
quick search by typing in Bureau of Reclamation + Shasta
Dam and it took me right to this link:

Here's another thing which just is blatant disrespect...I
wonder how these folks would like it if their ceremonies,
rituals, etc., in their churches were treated in such disregard?

Alaska Land of Dreams

I woke up this morning to a cloudy, overcast sky,
pregnant with life giving rains....said my morning
prayers, stood with arms stretched to the sky and
felt that lovely rain on my face and skin, feeling joyous,
and then came in to see what was in my inbox that
might need my attention.

What I came across just saddened me.  I don't know
why I continue to be surprised at what this patriarchal
government does for us, but nevertheless I always
hold out hope, only to have those hopes dashed time
and again.  For a long time now I have aligned myself
with saving our Alaskan Sacred Lands and Waters and
her inhabitants.  I sign petition after petition to keep
these lands and waters free from big oil companies who
want to drill and make more of a mess on Mother Earth.
I've sent petitions to President Obama, the Oil Companies
and to Ken Salazar, and now it seems that is all going to
fly out the window.  One of the first headlines I saw as
I was signing on this morning will lead you to read this.

I truly feel our government does not care if we kill our waters,
and all of the life that depends upon those waters...the Whales,
Polar Bears, The Indigenous Peoples who depend upon these
pristine waters and lands for survival, the government does not
care or this would not be on the table for approval!  I am saying
this as a spiritual being!  When do we begin to take the moral
high ground here and see that we are perpetrating our own
demise?  It baffles me to the very core!  And then I read a
stupid statement by Rep. Michelle Bachman that really sends
me over the top..."Some suggestions are that perhaps we would
see an enhancement of wildlife expansion because of the warmth
of the pipeline...The [existing Alaska pipeline] has now become
a meeting ground and 'coffee klatch' for the caribou."   Source:

REALLY?  You have got to be kidding me!  What rolls around in
this woman's brain?  As you can tell I am a little over the top
angst out?  We cannot eat oil, we cannot clean up an oil spill
in the Alaskan Waters!   We have not learned one damned thing
from the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico!  We continue to use
old outdated forms of energy that are killing us all and yet
President Obama signed the legislation that will allow Shell
and other subsidiaries the right to drill.   My feet, my spirit
stand firm on this one.  If all the cars in the world stopped
running today because we didn't have gas and oil to put in
them my heart would be running over with thanks and
gratefulness.  It is time to put into action the solar, wind,
hydro power that is waiting to be used.  Once again our
legislators, representatives in Congress and the House,
and the White House itself hold us back from being a whole
and healthy world.  Other countries are doing it, why can't we?

I know it seems like I have been missing
in action but I assure you I am still here.

I have been a busy lady...ever working
towards bringing healing, peace, and

Firekeeper and I went to the Mighty Rock
River to do our ceremony/ritual very early
Sunday morning...I had wanted to go on
Saturday evening as the sun was going
down but it was not to be so, so we then
made plans to go as the sun was coming
up on Sunday morning and now I know why
we were to wait.  What an incredible time
of peace, stillness, and harmony as we
said our personal prayers, prayed the
prayer I posted above, poured our bottle of
water that we had blessed into the river,
and gave offerings of white lilly and
cornmeal to the waters.  As we were doing
so, out from the rushes along the water's
edge came a family of Mallard Ducks and
they swam towards us...silently as we were
being quiet too, inhaling the peace and
stillness of the morning, and they stopped
right in front of us.  FireKeeper and I just
smiled at one another, knowing in our hearts
they were there to assist us.  It was so
utterly beautiful to bear witness that the
elegant webbed ones were there to assist
us in sending up prayers!  We then just
sat in silence for awhile and watched as
the morning light filtered through the trees
and played out on the water's surface...
You could feel our blessings and prayers
being carried to the oceans of Mother Earth.
I am so very grateful to have had this time
to share with my Grandson, to have had this
time to pray and send even more blessings
to the waters and to Creator for giving us
the right time and place to do so.  The
energies were palpable all day long and into
the night.  I can still feel them this morning!
Life is Good and I am claiming the Blessings
now!  A'HO!!
