Keep Shell Out of the Arctic!: Thank You
Keep Shell Out of the Arctic!: Thank You - Take Action!: NRDC's Save BioGems
Please help defend our WildPlaces and our WildLife...as well as our Seas?
Shell planned on drilling in Alaska's Polar Bear Seas but that ran amok when one of their ships almost ran aground in one of their harbors and so now it is stalled. Not only that, but the Coast Guard has found a number of problems
in regards to safety on the spill response barge....so now is the time to stop
any further moves Shell makes dead in its tracks to protect these very fragile habitats. We can't drink oil!!! We can't eat money!!! And once our pristine waters of the world are gone, what then?
Remember that Activism Does Matter?

A Homeless Polar Bear in London...
As I go through the hottest week of the year right now,
I can't help but think of the ramifications of this video
I'm about to share with you. I've been thinking of
Global Warming for days now. I think we are at our
tipping point. If I believed in Armegeddon I'd say we
are there. We have to do something on a very personal
level, and on an activist level, which is why I'm posting
this information today. As a WaterKeeper, the ice caps
which are so important to our survival, are melting before
our very eyes and yet so many nations are still are not
on board with implementing ways that can save what is
left. Have we all gone mad? I feel like our government
is selling us downstream, and it's time to stand up and
let our voices be heard.
Jude Law teamed up with Radiohead to make this video.
We have to act now if we hope to save the Arctic and the
Polar Bears that call it home....And as Dan Howell, Deputy
Campaigns Director says in an email to me, "Oil companies
are using the melted sea ice to drill for more oil that is
causing global warming in the first place. In fact, Shell's
Arctic fleet is arriving any day now to begin exploratory
drilling off the coast of Alaska this summer. That's just
madness. It's time for us to take back sanity from those
who have lost the plot."
After you watch the video please help spread the word and
get everyone you know to spread the word and let's get
this scenario stopped. When people know, the act, and
we all know what happened when the drills blew up in the
Gulf. Do we really want another accident of those proportions?
Drilling in warm water is extremely different than drilling in
Arctic Waters and if they have an accident, I'm afraid we will
never be able to heal those waters, and more importantly
the animals and peoples who live in those areas will be
affected in multitudes of ways.

A Cold Water Prayer to Blessing Hands Rock
Blessing Hands Rock is just one of many sites that are
being threatened due to the possible raising of the Shasta
Dam...please watch and learn about this and please keep
the Winnemem Wintu peoples in your prayers? And if you
so feel inclined, write to those in power over Shasta Dam,
and how it affects the life of this unrecognized tribe.
Because it is an unrecognized tribe,their protests have
virtually gone unheard as they are treated like any other
interest group out there. In my humble opinion this is
wrong on so many levels!!!
It is overseen by the Bureau of Reclamation. I just did a
quick search by typing in Bureau of Reclamation + Shasta
Dam and it took me right to this link:
