May the Water Flow (For the People of the Azawak)
In searching for something new to post about Water related
issues I came upon this video on You Tube...after reading
about this project I thought I'd share it.
I've been walking for miles and miles
Along this dusty road beneath a blazing sky
Searching for sustenance
So our children will not die.
I've been waiting for years and years
in this desert for some kind of hope
Praying to the Gods above
That our people can have a fertile home.
May the water flow all over our land
May the children smile again
May the Gods above answer all our prayers
And may the world begin to care
There is so much we have to teach
But love is just outside our reach
There is so much we want to learn
But first this chapter has to turn.
Now children from a distant land
Have helped us dig beneath the sand
Water can now flow to us
And to our animals from the Well of Love.
With new friendships and new strength
Our women can work alongside our men
Start anew to use our tools
Build new roads, home and schools.
May the water flow all over our land
May the children smile again
May the Gods above answer all our prayers
And may the world begin to care
There is so much we have to teach
But love is just outside our reach
There is so much we want to learn
But first this chapter has to turn.
I had a dream that children of all races
Were dancing in the rain
And the deserts of the world
Were filled with flowers and with grain.
And I know that the wisdom of all the ancient ones will guide our way
Brothers and sisters hand in hand
to build a greener day.
May the water flow all over our land
May the children smile again
May the Gods above answer all our prayers
And may the world begin to care
There is so much we have to teach
But love is just outside our reach
There is so much we want to learn
But first this chapter has to turn.

This lovely poem was sent to me by
Pamela Stead Jones...a beautiful
Sister/Friend who is a phenominal
writer...if you've never perused her
blog I encourage you to take a peek
at some of her writings, poetry, and
outstanding photo's...
Thank You Pam for sharing this poem
with me...as a Water Keeper it really
speaks to my HeartSong!
"Water always takes the lowest position.
Obstacles do not hinder it.
It accommodates whatever is in its path
and continues to flow forward.
It never loses its direction.
By remaining low it follows its true nature
and its fundamental direction is not influenced
by superficial obstructions.
Water is always ocean-bound,
seeking to reunite with the whole.
To follow the way of water
is to return to one's spiritual essence."
-Tao Teh Ching

Grateful for Quiet Mornings....
It is within the stillness of the
morning I find myself in Gratitude
for Water, for Life.
In my weeks of praying for Water,
I have come to know myself more
intimately...have realized my
relationship to Water, The Womb
of all Life.
In this Awakening then, much has
been brought to me to 'see.' Yes,
the Bodies of Water that need all
of our Healing Prayers, the issues
that affect us all, and the glimpses
of things not so pleasant that we
sometimes choose to ignore as it
brings us to a place of being so
uncomfortable...perhaps because
we have been part of the cause.
This morning though, my Sister/Friend
Shalahnia sent me a link to peruse.
When I followed that link, I was so
brought into a place of joy, of higher
awareness, that all I could do was sit
here in the stillness of the morning,
and be Grateful for Shalahnia as being
The Messenger, and Grateful for the
blog holding the new awareness.
It feels very much like a day of sitting
within the silence of my own spirit and
reveling in the joy of others as I allow
them to touch my heartsong. The
picture above shows me the reflection
we all mirror to one another...and I
Thank Great Spirit, Grandfather and
Grandmother for giving me another day
of Life, of Living, of Breath, of Prayer,
of friendships found and friendships
lost, of birdsong, of meadows kissed
by sun and flower, of harvests coming
in to help in winter hours, and for
Water...that element given us to
nourish, refresh, revitalize, and as the
blog I am sending you to says...it is
Medicine...and I am Grateful to be a
Water Keeper.
A'HO!
